Industry Recognized Credential

The Greater Cincinnati Business Advisory Council is proud to announce its application to establish a new Industry Recognized Credential.

Greater Cincinnati Business Advisory Council and regional industry leaders have partnered to create the Work Ready Credential (WRC).

The Work Ready Credential is designed to bridge the gap between theory and practice. Building upon the skill-based foundation of the Ohio Means Jobs Readiness Seal, our industry partners will provide additional work-based learning opportunities for students to exhibit mastery of professional skills embedded in a long-term professional context.

How Does It Work?

Our vision starts with the Ohio Means Jobs Readiness Seal. We have developed a curriculum aligned to indicators for that seal. Districts have partnered with Greater Cincinnati Business Advisory Council and have access to these lessons to facilitate instruction in those professional skills.

Then, in partnership with regional industry leaders, students can participate in work-based learning experiences, providing real-world opportunities to exhibit skills in a work environment. When paired together, employers will know students can not only demonstrate proficiency in these skills individually, but that they can also manifest them into a successful workforce experience overall.

Students will earn the Work Ready Credential aligned to specific industry sectors, so we might say someone earned a “Work Ready Credential in Healthcare” or a “Work Ready Credential in Manufacturing.”

What Regional Industries Recognize an AEC?

The application for this Industry Recognized Credential was developed in partnership with the following industry sectors in Southwest Ohio:

  • The Health Collaborative
  • Supply Chain Ohio, Kentucky, Indiana
  • Allied Construction Industries
  • Advanced Manufacturing Industry Partnership of Ohio
